Sir Alex Ferguson felt Manchester United merited their win over Milan and feels they have a ‘fantastic chance’ of securing a place in the final of the UEFA Champions League.
Wayne Rooney netted a fantastic goal in injury-time to hand United a 3-2 win over Milan.
Milan led at the interval thanks to a brace of goals from Kaka, but Rooney showed his class after the break to score twice and hand The Red Devils the advantage.
Ferguson was pleased with the effort his side showed and is looking to complete the job in Milan.
“We persevered and we kept playing our football,” the Scot told ITV. “Some of our football was fantastic.
“I think in the second half we dominated. We got hold of it and the equaliser set us up to go and win it.
“It gives us a magnificent chance now. We will be going over there with a big chance.
“We are in front and they know they have a difficult game now.
“We are chasing the title and this is the biggest boost we could have got. It will give us a boost I am sure of it.”
